West Coast Regional Council Activities

Council Purpose

The purpose of the West Coast Regional Council is to enable democratic local decision making to promote the social, economic, environmental and cultural well-being of the West Coast Region in the present and for the future. The role of the West Coast Regional Council is:
  • To give effect to the purpose mentioned above.
  • To perform the duties and exercise the rights, conferred on it by the Local Government Act 2002 and any other enactment.
