Napier City Council Activities

Council Purpose

The broad long-term purpose of the Napier City Council as the City's Territorial Government is described by its Mission Statement. To provide the Facilities and Services and the Environment, Leadership, Encouragement and Economic Opportunity to make Napier the best provincial city in New Zealand in which to live, work, raise a family, and enjoy a safe and satisfying life. The Council establishes strategic and operational plans, and sets goals and measures key targets, consistent with the Mission Statement. In doing so, the Council is guided by the following values, roles, principles and the Citizens' Charter which act as guidelines and standards for its decisions and service delivery.
