Transparency, Accountability and Financial Management of Local Government (TAFM) Reforms

The Minister of Local Government, Rodney Hide, has recently announced Cabinet's decisions on changes to the Local Government Act 2002.

These reforms are aimed at improving ratepayers and residents' understanding of councils' budgets and financial operations.

Councils and members of the public will have an opportunity to make submissions during the select committee hearings.
